Our approach

Before you contact us, please understand that we are limited, by necessity, in what information we are able to provide to the media.

For legal and operational reasons, we do not comment on whether we have a report or investigation before us. We will only comment in exceptional circumstances, and when it is in the public interest to do so.

Due to statutory restrictions, we cannot comment on protected communications.

We suggest you seek legal advice before speaking with potential report makers or witnesses as they may have been issued with a confidentiality notice or be protected under the ICAC Act.

The ICAC will consider invitations for interviews on a case-by-case basis.

Specific media guidelines may be issued if an investigation proceeds to public examination.

To protect the identity and safety of witnesses, the ICAC may issue non-publication orders during public examinations. These may prohibit or restrict the publication of any information or evidence given as part of a public examination.
