Protections

People reporting improper conduct to the ICAC may be entitled to protections under the ICAC Act.

One of the ICAC’s functions is to protect people who assist in detecting, preventing, investigating or otherwise responding to improper conduct.

Improper conduct includes 4 types of conduct:

Any person who comes forward to report conduct that they suspect is improper conduct may be entitled to certain protections under the ICAC Act.

These protections may also be available to people who:

  • assist the ICAC to perform the ICAC’s functions
  • cooperate with a person or body performing functions under the ICAC Act.
