When you make a report, it is important you understand the ICAC’s responsibilities to you and your responsibilities to the ICAC.
Please treat the ICAC and their staff with courtesy.
The ICAC and their staff will treat you fairly, respectfully and with courtesy. Your information will be treated sensitively, objectively and in accordance with the law.
Before you make a report, consider these questions.
- Are you clear about what you are reporting?
- Is ICAC the right agency to report to?
- Is your information complete, accurate and truthful?
- Have you provided as much detail as you can?
- Do you have supporting information that needs to be included with your report?
- Have you identified other persons who may be able to assist?
- Have you reported the matter to another agency? Is action being taken by that agency?
- Is this report a protected communication?
