Rights and privacy

The ICAC manages your personal information carefully and in accordance with the ICAC Act and Information Act 2002.

The ICAC and staff will only use personal information for an appropriate lawful purpose.

In accordance with the ICAC Act, any information that could identify you should be kept confidential as this is the best protection from retaliation.

However, disclosure may occur if your report needs to be referred to another agency. We will only provide your personal details after we have had a conversation with you. Your personal details may be provided so the matter can be properly dealt with. If you are concerned about your personal details being provided to another agency, you should raise your concern when you make a report.

If you have a complaint about the ICAC or their staff, you can contact the ICAC Inspector. If you have a complaint about your privacy or information, you can contact the Information Commissioner Northern Territory.
